Now in its 22nd year, this tournament serves as a lasting reminder of the remarkable young man Andrew was to all of us. In June of 2003, Andrew was the victim of a senseless act of violence and was taken far too soon from those who loved him. Later that same year, through the dedication of family, friends, and members of the community, the Andrew G. Attinasi Memorial Scholarship was established and funded with proceeds from a golf tournament created in his honor.
A determined athlete and charismatic student at Irondequoit High School, Andrew’s legacy lives on not only through the memories and laughter he left behind, but through a scholarship awarded to an Irondequoit athlete who embodies the same character and spirit he did. Over the past 22 years, more than $250,000 has been raised in Andrew’s memory. Through the continued support of individuals, local businesses, and friends of the tournament, the scholarship has grown year after year.
